Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter for WCBD-TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police handled DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter directive for state authorities. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year Award for the entire South Carolina media. O'Dell then worked for the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. O'Dell, in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She's covered events such like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of shows that were pre-showarrivals to The Emmys and the Golden Globes. Also, she co-hosted Miss USA's pageant, as well as the Miss Universe Pageant.
